| Posted inWhat an exciting racing season for Vintage Modified Racing Association. The season came to end too soon, it just flew by. We had a fantastic fan base show up and cheer on their favorite car and driver. Camping with family and friends, which is always a great time and a lot of good food was always served. On the track, everyone races for 1st place. Camping, everyone settles down with food, fun and laughter. Now it is time to start planning our 2009 racing season. We hope all our great fans show up next year and add more fans in the grand stands. Thank you fans, we appreciate your faithfulness and cheers.
VMRA would like to introduce, to our fans, the top five winners for our 2008 season.
03-Jim Jones took 1st place with 1597-season points. Jim wasn’t available for the photo so Elvis was more then happy to stand in for him and hold up his trophy.
07-Mike Clother took 2nd place with 1578-season points. Mike stands to the right of Elvis. Mike is the board treasure and also provides the racing news after each race. You can read through the racing news by going to our ‘Latest News’ pagae.
75-Bob Fulmer took 3rd place with 1574-season points. Bob is to the left of Elvis. Bob is always ready to lend a hand in the pits when someone is having problems. He is ready with tools and parts to help a team-mate make it back out to the track.
47-Kiel Hobbs “The Kid” took 4th place with 1527-season points. Unfortunately, The Kid wasn’t able to attend the banquet, so Micki Rux (board secretary) was more then happy to stand in the picture and display Kiel’s trophy. Kiel has come a long way in his racing career. He drives 1936 Dodge, a very cool Rat Rodded Race Car!
26-John Mustered took 5th place with 1507-season points. John is the board vice president. John took on the task of scheduling our races. No easy task at that, many phone calls and call backs. Once John has the dates and tracks lined-up for the season, he then begins working of the season poster. With the help of his son, they put out an awesome poster.
Congratulations to our top five drivers. For more information on each driver, navigate to the Drivers Bios page and make your selection. We had a great turn our of cars this season. What a wonderful group of folks to race with.
See everyone next year. Best of luck to all drivers. Remember, “Think safety first”!
