2012 Top Ten Drivers

Bobby Wheeler, Jr. is the 2012 season champion.  Ending the season with 617 points, just 80 points ahead of the 2nd place position.  Bobby is committing his trophy and season championship to his father, Bob Wheeler, Sr. who passed away this years.  Bob will be missed by many!  Congratulations Bobby for your 2012 win. 

 

Jeff Peterson came in second place ending the season with 537 points.  Jeff had the opportunity to race with his son and his father.  Jeff was not available for a photo so his father Chuck picked up his trophy.  Congratulations Jeff. 

Robert Rux came in third with 516 points.  Robert had taken home the Hard Luck award 4 years in a row.  Not this year, he came up from fifth place to third place, winning first place at the last two races of the season. Congratulations Robert.

 

Mike Clother came in fourth place, holding onto third for most of the season.  Mike ending the season with 515 points.  Congratulations Mike for another great season. 

 

Chuck Peterson took fifth place with 443 points. Chuck had several crashes, not sure if he’d finish the main event at Evergreen Speedway, but came out and still maintained competition for the rest of the teams.  Congratulations Chuck.

 

Sixth place was held by Todd McCartney ending the season with 426 points.  Todd drove both the 51 car for Dave Trapp and the 92 car.  A great season for the McCartney / Trapp team.  Congratulations!

 

Seventh place was split between Tom Smitham and John Mustered, driving the 32 car for Leonard Schmidt.  The two ended the season with 411 points.  Congratulations to Tom, John and Leonard.

 

Tony Carabello came in eight place, coming to the Vintage Modified this year as a rookie.  Tony ended the season with 254 points.  Congratulations Tony.  Tony was unavailable for a trophy picture.

Kevin Rinkel came in ninth place ending the season with 245 points. Kevin was not available for a trophy picture.  Congratulations Kevin.

Don Huntley, another rookie who joined the Vintage Modifieds this year came in tenth place and ended the season with 229 points.  Congratulations Don.

 

This makes it official, season 2012 is now over.  Now is time to prepare for 2013.  Cars need fixed.  Teams are looking for sponsorships.  Some teams need pit crews.  Anyone interested in joining this wonderful racing family feel free to join the general membership meetings and get acquainted.  Open the Events tab for dates, place and times of the general membership meetings.
