Bobby made a clean sweep at Ephrata Speedway Park on Saturday July 24th. Bobby took the lead early on and holding the lead with a 25-lap main event on Saturday. (A current photo will be published, dang camera was not working at the time of the trophy, but we wanted to acknowledge Bobby’s win.)

Bobby took and held the lead early on during the main event. He looked fast and furious. His newly painted #22 car went from Red to Sleek Black. In fact, he had a fan yelling and cheering him on in the stands. At the time of the trophy, a young fan was yelling, “Bobby, Bobby, you are Bobby in the red car aren’t you?” He was cheering on Bobby Wheeler #22. I turned and said, “Yes, his car once was red.” The young boy was about 11-years old. Must have been a fan for a long time because he started yelling, “Bobby, did you drive a late model and was it purple?”. Bobby yelled, “yes, but it was blue.” The young child yelled, “blue or purple I love it. Do a burn out Bobby, do a burn out.” This young fan of Wheeler must have seen him race several times at the Ephrata Speedway Park.

All in all, it was a wonderful night of racing. Very hot in temperature. The racing fans packed into the stands. The cost was so very family friendly. A family of five got in for a night of racing for only $20.00.

Bobby started racing in 1973 with the Quarter Midgets. He held the VMRA championship in 2004 and 2005 and it looks like he may just take it again in 2010. He races in a 1939 Chevy with a 350 Engine.
