Scott Rinkel is an 18-year old who recently graduated from Roger’s High School in Puyallup. Scott drove the 7 car, owned by Jacque Clother, in the last South Sound Speedway race on June 16th and drove very well. He held his own with the seasoned Vintage drivers.
Scott graduated on June 16th, the same day of the race. Although Scott is a rookie with Vintage Modifieds, he is no stranger to racing. He has raced at South Sound Speedway and Evergreen Speedway. He began racing Quarter Midgets; as well as Compacts. Unfortunately I do not have a photo of Scott, yet, I will however take one at the next South Sound race.
Scott came in 3rd during the Main Event. He received 13 time-in points, 15 heat race points and 25 main event points. Great racing!
Kevin Rinkel, 38 car, is Scott’s dad and Kevin built the 7 car back in the day. It was a great day for the Rinkel team. Scott’s graduation, Scott racing along side his dad and Kevin breaking the Vintage Modified track record with an impressive 14.80 timing-in.
Congratulations Scott for your fantastic day of racing with the Vintage Modifieds and for your 2012 day of graduation.
And if anyone has a current picture of Scott please eMail it to the Webmaster.
