Main Event results from July 28th, Evergreen Speedway in Monroe

There was a lot of excitement at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe on Saturday, July 28th.  Eleven Vintage cars turned-out and gave the fans the show they came to see.  

Rookie Kyten Jones driving the 03 car led the first 9-laps, of the 30-lap main event.  Going into the 10th lap, on turn one, Rookie Huntley driving the 59 car spun out in the dirt which brought out the yellow flag and a caution was called, creating a restart.  It was a very exciting beginning for the main event.

 

The green flag was dropped, after the caution re-start, and the race for 1st place was on!  Jim Jones driving the 13 car didn’t take long before he was taking the lead for 1st place position, with Kyten slipping  into the 2nd place position.   There was a lot of competition on the track as Rookie Scott Rinkel driving the 38 car drove his way into 2nd place with Bobby Wheeler Jr. driving the 22 car making his way into the 3rd place position.  Ending the Main Event with Jones taking 1st in the 13 car, Rinkel taking 2nd in the 38 car and Wheeler, Jr in the 22 car ending in 3rd place.

Jim Jones received 25 time-in points, 15 Heat Race Points, 35 Main Event points making his night of racing a total of 75 points for the night.  The 13 car is currently in 8th place and 202 total year-to-date points.

Scott Rinkel timed-in the second fastest Vintage car, receiving 20 time-in points, 12 Heat Race points, 30 Main Event points with a total of 62 points for his night of racing.  The 38 car is currently in 7th place with a total of 245 points for the season.

 

 

 

Bobby Wheeler, Jr gained a total of 55 points at the end of the night. Nineteen time-in points, 11 Heat Race points and 25 Main Event points.  Currently Bobby has a total of 427 points for the season and  is currently in 1st place.
