Robert won the 8-lap Heat race and then turned around and won the 30-lap Main Event. Robert’s driving has greatly improved for the 2012 season. Congratulations Robert Rux and the 88 team for this awesome night of racing.
Robert was able to take the lead of the Main Event by lap 7, passing Mike Clother, car 7 and Jeff Peterson car 28 on the outside between turns 1 and 2. There were 5-cautions making 5-retarts and Robert still managed to keep the lead. After the 5th restart on lap 27 Bobby Wheeler, car 22, was coming up on Robert when the green flag dropped. It was a flashback of the last race at South Sound Speedway, only this time Robert took the checkered flag on lap 30 and took home the trophy.
Bobby Wheeler, car 22 came in 2nd and John Mustered driving car 32 for Leonard Schmidt came in 3rd. Congratulations to all top three cars at Evergreen Speedway.
There is just one race to go at South Sound Speedway on September 15th. Watch for more information concerning this last race. Thank you families, friends, fans and sponsors for another successful year of racing.
