Robert Rux #88 ended the 2009 season with 1576 points and in 4th place. Leonard Schmidt, board president, awarding Robert his 4th place trophy at the season end banquet.

Robert and his crew chief, Les Yeager, had a pretty rough time this year, spending a lot of time and money working on their 1937 Ford. There was something breaking or crashing each race, which kept them busy in-between each race. However, they were able to make it out to every race of the season.

Robert was voted in as the ‘Hard Luck’ for 2009. John Mustered #26 tied in with Robert for the ‘Hard Luck’ award. Leonard presenting the Hard Luck awards to Robert on the left, Leonard Schmidt in the middle and John Mustered on the right.

Robert started racing in 1984 with the Compact class. He joined VMRA in 2000. His 1937 Ford was originally built by Chuck Peterson. He races with a 355 chevy motor.
