Evergreen Speedway – May 6th – Devin Eireman 6-car came in First Place

Posted by | Posted in General | Posted on 05-04-2017

The third race of the season at Evergreen Speedway in Monre was not rained out! Whew, a great day of beautiful, warm, sunny weather.  Which made for a great night of racing.

The main event ran 25-laps. Early on in the main event, Robert Rux 88-car, experienced a blown engine and left the track in huge cloud of smoke. Not a great way to start the season, good luck to the 88-team.  Unfortunately for Chris Cook 1-car, ran into car troubles before having the opportunity of timing-in. So good luck to the 1-team as well.

The main event started out with father and son head to head on the front-line. Jim Jones 03-car and Kyten Jones 30-car. The two had four fast cars approaching, chomping at the bit to take the lead.  Devin Eierman 6-car, Mike Clother 7-car, Vern Huson 77-car and Ken Kalschmidt 27-car all competing to make their move.  At one point Jim Jones and Devin Eierman were nose to nose down the stretch into turns 1, 2 and 3 with Jim holding the lead. On that last stretch around turn 4 Devin took the lead. A couple more laps and the checkered flag waved Devin in 1st place, Jim in 2nd place and Ken in 3rd.  Wow, a close race and very exciting evening of racing.  Congratulations to Devin Eierman and the 6-team for the first win of the season.

Congratulations to our two Heat Race winners.  A great way to start the new season for Kyten Jones in the 30-car taking first place in the A-Heat and for Adam Bragdon in the 28-car taking first place in the B-Heat.
