What a beautiful day at Wenatchee Valley Super Oval.  A great turn out of 10-cars.  They raced in the A and B heat; as well as, a 30-lap Main Event.

Jim Jones-03 took the lead of the Main Event and finished the last 5-laps for the win. On his heels was Vern Huson-77 taking second and Mike Clother-7 coming in third.

Jim Jones has a couple championships under his belt with Vintage Modifieds.  Jim began racing in 1997 with Sky Valley Modifieds. He began racing with Vintage Modifies in 2004.  Thank you to Jim’s sponsors, Jim Jones Trucking and Bergs Custom Cylinder Heads.  A special thank you goes out to Laney and Tawnya.  Congratulations Jim Jones for your first trophy of the 2018 season.

Vern has been racing since 1964 with the A-A Class at Spanaway Speedway.  He joined Vintage Modified in 2015.  Vern has several first place wins with Vintage Modifieds over the past 3-years. He had to hustle to get 77 ready for the Wenatchee race, since he broke at the last race at Grays Harbor Speedway. Thank you to Vern’s sponsor Johnson Electric – Wenatchee, WA and a very special thank you to his fiancee Vada.

Mike Clother-7 came in third Saturday night.  Mike began racing in 1981.  His first race was at a Demo derby on Mother’s Day 1981.  He won a trophy and was hooked on racing ever since.  Mike’s first car class was Hobby Stocks at Spanaway.  He came to Vintage Modified in  1995 because he thought they were fast and cool and they were great racers.  He has 7-VMRA Championships under his belt.

The next race will be June 16th at Evergreen Speedway.  Classes racing will be: Vintage Modifieds, Super Stock F8s, Stingers, Outlaw F8s, Youth Hornets, and WESCO Sprints.  Tickets – Adults $16.00 – children 11 – 17 $10.00
